Creating Stillness
It's all about creating the same peaceful inner stillness which we all experience everytime we daydream or zone out. It's the same level of thought you visit while pleasantly engrossed in a good movie or novel. Have you ever enjoyed a 2 hour film and felt as though it was only 30 minutes long? How about taking a 100 mile drive that went by in no time at all? These are commonly occurring episodes of increased subconscious awareness.
So the process of Hypnosis guides the individual to that place we all know something about and then go more deeply into it than you would normally. This is pretty easy to do with suggestions, metaphors and verbal imagery. The reason this is our intended destination is because the subconscious mind is the home of all habits, patterns values and beliefs. This is where positive change can be powerfully initiated.
How It Feels
The process of hypnosis feels as right as rain. It is a peaceful moment of inner reflection where individuals are in complete control and for the most part hear and remember everything said to them during the experience.
A unique phenomenon occurs with nearly everyone. Time distortion is a classic definer of hypnosis. The more open and active the subconscious mind becomes the less able the conscious mind can keep track of time the way it usually does. So after a session I usually ask the client how long they thought the session was and they consistently guess between 5 and 10 minutes when all my sessions are 20-25 minutes long.
Time To Integrate
During hypnosis clients process and integrate the new information with what they already know and begin to form a new perspective or awareness regarding their goals. This type of powerful inner focusing easily melts away whatever used to hold them back. In fact, hypnosis can create the sensation and positive energy of success before it physically occurs. Weight loss clients, for example, tend to feel lighter before the scale validates this to be true.
Lastly, for those interested in lasting success the process of hypnosis continues after the office sessions are completed. Clients go home with a cd of each session and diligently train their brain to embrace the new patterns and with this repetition these new habits develop long healthy roots supporting long term freedom and relief.
Do the math, if you spend a good deal of time repeating unwanted/unhealthy patterns the likelihood is that they will continue. At the risk of over simplifying it's really just a matter of repeating better stuff and because this repetition occurs during moments of powerful inner reflection positive change comes quickly.
In life we all follow the path of our most dominant thoughts, we are what we think. Hypnosis enables you to choose your thoughts and to powerfully reshape your world.
