Pfizer to Bring Back Chantix Ads
Posted by Jacob Goldstein
A tortoise hawking Pfizer’s smoking-cessation drug Chantix will show up on TV screens Sunday, Forbes reports.
Recently, Pfizer’s been running ads about quitting smoking that don’t mention Chantix. But they do direct viewers to an unbranded Web site that has lots of pathways to the Chantix site.
Pfizer hasn’t run any ads that mention the drug by name since January, when concerns rose over the drug’s psychiatric side effects. By keeping the Chantix name out of the ads, Pfizer has also avoided having to discuss the downsides of the medicine.
The ads set to start airing this weekend are 90 seconds long, with about 40 seconds devoted to side effects associated with the drug. Common side effects include nausea, sleep disturbance and constipation.

The leading experts should be charged with the deaths and injuries that occur to patients while taking this drug.

As a team leader has said,“Some people think the drug has been withdrawn from the market,” the team leader of U.S. marketing for Chantix told Forbes. “More importantly, a lot of people haven’t heard of Chantix yet.”
This is the way it SHOULD be. Chantix is responsible for more than one death: one death too many. It has ruined inumerable lives already. Take it off the market and spend your money to find a cure for those who are still suffering from this deadly drug!
