Children rarely find themselves in trouble all on their own – a complex structure of environment, characters and events all come into play to create problems such as anxiety, unwanted habits, over-eating, etc.
For this reason, it is often ideal and even necessary to include family members and/or caregivers as part of hypnotic interventions. In order to sustain new, desired outcomes for the child, it is important to make sure that those parties are on board and cooperating.

It’s probably not a surprise to most people who are acquainted with children that kids are actually in a form of trance most of the time! This makes them ideal candidates for working in hypnosis; a child’s creative imagination is the ideal realm for making discoveries and creating solutions to their problems.

Formal inductions are not even necessary when working with a child in hypnosis, but what is important is that the child is willing to participate. If parents or other caregivers are pressuring a child to attend a hypnosis session, results can be less than ideal.

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner, I have had the pleasure of witnessing many profound life changes among my clients.

Just one of many wonderful such cases was with a single mom of two; we’ll call her Mary. Mary came to me in utter desperation. She had been suffering for four long years with an intense phobia of driving on freeways.

Hypnosis Myths

“Hypnosis Myths”

by James Hazlerig

Hypnosis Myth #1:

Because of cartoons and b-grade horror movies, a lot of people think that hypnotists have
the power to control other people’s minds.

If that were true, why would hypnotists waste their time helping people like you stop
smoking, shed pounds, manage stress, overcome fears, and get relief from chronic pain—
all for a lot less than conventional medicine costs?

If hypnosis were mind control, wouldn’t hypnotists just walk into banks and walk out
with all the money?

Well, it turns out that hypnosis is not what you saw on television. That’s right—Saturday
morning cartoons lied to you!

While hypnosis won’t let a hypnotist control your actions, it can let you gain more control
over your own habits, cravings, reactions, and limiting beliefs. In other words, it helps
you control your mind—which helps you control your life.

Hypnosis Myth #2: Amnesia

Hypnotist: Have you ever been hypnotized?
Client: Not that I recall!

It’s a popular misconception that if you can remember what happened, you weren’t really
hypnotized. This is nonsense.

Some people do experience amnesia during hypnosis. However, most people remember
the entire experience, especially the first several times. For some, it’s a little hazy, like a
quickly forgotten dream. For others, it’s a bit like a movie—you know you were alert the
whole time, but you might not remember every single scene later.

The good news is that you can experience all the benefits of hypnosis while remaining
aware the whole time and recalling every detail.

Is It Your Time to Stop Smoking?

So much more than your health depends on it!

Over the last several decades the public has been made aware of the dangers of smoking.

As a clinical and medical hypnotherapist, and life and business coach, I see many people for smoking cessation. Over the years I have worked with thousands of people to successfully overcome their habit of smoking. Often these smokers are simply fed up with smell, the taste, and the unwanted health side-effects that come from smoking. Perhaps they are unable to walk, run or exercise without the burn in their chest and lungs. Perhaps a cough has developed and they know it is time to stop before their health is irreparably damaged. Perhaps they have friends and family that have expressed concern and they can no longer be around the self-destructive lifestyle. There are many reasons to stop smoking and most of them center on a person’s health.
