Current board member, teaching faculty and twice past president of the New York Society of Clinical Hypnosis. I have experienced as a patient all of the methods and modalities with which I work. Thus, from my own experience, I know how powerful therapy can be – especially when enhanced by the inclusion of EMDR and Hypnosis. These additions can help increase suggestibility for change and open up unconscious processes to facilitate growth by reprocessing traumatic memories and negative thoughts more quickly.

In addition to my work as a clinician, I teach and supervise therapists in both psychotherapy and hypnosis.

“I directed the Hypnosis Institute at the Park Slope Center for Mental Health in Brooklyn from 1995 to 2001. I am also President of the New York Society of Clinical Hypnosis, a Hypnosis Consultant with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Instructor with the Association for Spirituality and Psychotherapy. My experience in administration and program development balances my knowledge of healing methods with a pragmatic understanding of the world in which we all live. I began my therapy career in psychoanalytic psychotherapy in order to obtain a solid classical base. In addition to my hypnosis and EMDR background I am a student of other alternative healing modalities including meditation, yoga, and the Alexander Technique. I have received treatment in acupuncture and therapeutic touch, and explore these modalities both for my own development and to expand my knowledge of other healing methods for my patients’ benefit.

I have dedicated my career to exploring and integrating various healing modalities to provide comprehensive and personalized care to my clients. From 1995 to 2001, I directed the Hypnosis Institute at the Park Slope Center for Mental Health in Brooklyn, where I developed and implemented innovative hypnotherapy programs that addressed a wide range of mental health issues. My leadership at the Institute was instrumental in shaping a multidisciplinary approach to therapy that combined traditional and alternative techniques.

Currently, I serve as the President of the New York Society of Clinical Hypnosis, where I continue to advance the field of hypnotherapy through collaboration, education, and advocacy. My role as a Hypnosis Consultant with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis further allows me to contribute to the development of best practices and to mentor upcoming professionals in the field. Additionally, as an Instructor with the Association for Spirituality and Psychotherapy, I integrate spiritual perspectives with therapeutic practices, offering a holistic approach to mental health.

My foundation in psychoanalytic psychotherapy provided me with a deep understanding of the unconscious mind, which I have seamlessly integrated into my hypnotherapy practice. This classical base has allowed me to develop a nuanced and effective approach to therapy, particularly when working with complex emotional and psychological issues.

Beyond hypnosis and EMDR, I am a lifelong student of alternative healing modalities, including meditation, yoga, and the Alexander Technique. These practices have not only enriched my personal life but have also informed my therapeutic approach, allowing me to offer clients a diverse set of tools for healing and personal growth. My exploration of acupuncture and therapeutic touch has further expanded my understanding of the mind-body connection, enabling me to offer more integrative care.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to balancing my knowledge of healing methods with a pragmatic understanding of the world in which we all live. This balance allows me to provide therapy that is both deeply transformative and practically grounded, ensuring that my clients receive care that is both effective and applicable to their everyday lives.

My ongoing commitment to professional development and my passion for exploring new therapeutic approaches ensure that I remain at the forefront of the field, always striving to offer the most effective and compassionate care to those I serve.”
