“Am I in a Rut? – I Can’t Quite Put My Finger On It”
by Elise Fee
Something isn’t right. You aren’t feeling happy and excited about life like you used to. When you think about the individual parts of your life, you can’t pinpoint what’s wrong; yet life feels dull, routine, boring. Your life feels ‘lifeless.’
Perhaps you’ve tried to convince yourself that this is normal, a part of getting older and having to face the realities of aging. But deep inside, you know differently. You remember how much fun life used to be, how exciting and inspiring new experiences felt, and how you used to wake up happy to face the day.
So what’s wrong?
First, let me assure you that it’s nothing that can’t be fixed. This is a common rut that people get into and occurs to people of all ages. And while I won’t go into the details of why this occurs, it’s important for you to recognize the signs:
1) Anyone looking at your life would say you have a good life, yet you feel lost or empty or as though life isn’t as meaningful as it used to be.
2) You’ve achieved goals you set out to accomplish, but no longer enjoy the feeling of fulfillment you used to have.
3) As you look at each aspect of your life, you can’t point to any one thing as the cause of your malaise.
4) You don’t feel joy very often — perhaps you experience moments of contentedness on occasion, but life doesn’t seem to hold the same thrill that it used to.
If this sounds like you, take heart. It is absolutely curable.
What’s the catch?
Simply put — the thinking that got you into this rut will not lead you out of it. You’ll need to open to new perspectives and ways of looking at things. You’ll need help and guidance from someone who knows the steps to take to create change. In short, if you could solve this yourself, you’d have already done it.
Learning new tools
As a Life Expansion Coach, I have a host of tools to help you out of that rut. One of many tools I use is Hypnosis – a relaxation technique that allows you to literally rewrite the subconscious programming that has been derailing you or taking you off course.
If you feel that your life has become “lifeless,” or you are unable to enjoy your life fully, take the time to call me to find out more.
